Elegant craftsmanship. Clean lines and contemporary silhouettes. Seamless flowing spaces flooded with natural light. Celebrated Japanese architect Kengo Kuma blends his minimalist aesthetic with traditional Chinese influences to evoke a sense of tranquillity in The Opposite House.

Billowing mesh screens create a dramatic textural effect in the soaring atrium that welcomes you into the House.

Kengo Kuma’s delicate origami structure in the centre of the atrium is a sculptural wonder that illuminates the room after dark.

This series by adidas Original brings together authentic food, real people and fresh sneakers in collaboration with 11 iconic restaurants from around the world – and our Superfly is one of them.

SEEDS OF LIFE (2019)

Launched at The Opposite House, our inaugural edition of ‘Encounters Across Cultures: Seeds of Life’ explored how the Chinese Five Elements are a universal connecting force between people and nature, an idea that moves across cultures – east and west, ancient and modern. The programme paired Swiss artist Katja Loher with local creators to design immersive and evolving installations in each House.
