Rediscover Hong Kong with our Guest Experience Team

Our House Locals shares their zest for life, passion for our incredible city, and connecting with guests through meaningful experiences. We invite you to discover Hong Kong through the eyes of our local experts.

Kay Cheung, The Foodie

Kay treasures encounters with each guest, and creating special moments that surprise and delight them.

The ultimate foodie, Kay loves exploring Hong Kong’s ever-evolving culinary scene, from fine dining to hole-in-the-wall eateries. Her favourites include The Chinese Library in Tai Kwun, an experience encapsulating contemporary art, historic architecture and decadent Cantonese delicacies all under one roof. Another recommendation is an unexpected addition to the Sheung Wan Market and Cooked Food Centre - ABC Kitchen, which serves delicately plated Italian cuisine amidst the bustling dai pai dong.

Leo Chung, The Explorer

Leo finds great joy in introducing hidden gems in popular destinations to guests. In his spare time, Leo likes to board the first bus that comes his way to investigate the hidden parts of the city. This includes Sham Shui Po, a gradually gentrified part of town where small trendy cafes juxtapose with hectic wet market and decades-old eateries.

One of Leo’s favourite routes begins by taking the Peak tram, followed by a scenic hike through Pokfulam, finishing at Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter. Take a step back in time and savour noodles cooked on a fishing boat right before your eyes. A short sampan ride across the harbour to Ap Lei Chau ends the day on a high note.

Tommy Chan, The Insider

Inspired by his mother who worked in the hospitality industry, Tommy began his career with The Upper House in 2012 as Bell Attendant. He quickly became a familiar face that guests sought out when they visited the House, and continues to nurture relationships built over the years, as Director of Guest Experience.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Tommy knows the city inside and out. While Hollywood Road is a popular destination, he likes uncovering secret spots including tiny antique stores along Upper Lascar Row, where guests can discover one-of-a-kind finds, from Chinese memorabilia to vintage Bruce Lee posters.
